Join Us At Elite Comics This Coming Saturday, May 6!!!

Super Heroes,

Join us this coming Saturday, May 6 (aka “Free Comic Book Day”), at Elite Comics in Overland Park, KS.

There we will be kicking off our “Vote Marvel” campaign– where we will be reaching out to folks in the KC metro and asking them what Marvel movie they’d like to have shown at our big fall fundraiser at the Folly Theater on Saturday, September 16 (“A Merry Marvel Movie Matinee at the Fabulous Folly Theater”).

William Binderup (owner of Elite Comics and a major supporter of Super Heroes for Doa’a) is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his crucial comic book shop in OP, and he’s been kind enough to invite us to join in his store’s festivities on Free Comic Book Day.

Our super volunteer, Trick Arrows, who cosplays as Hawkeye Kate Bishop (the best Hawkeye) from Marvel comics will be in attendance along with members of the Just-Us League. These fabulous folks have valiantly volunteered to help the Super Heroes for Doa’a kick off our “Vote Marvel” campaign in style.

Hope to see you at Elite Comics this coming Saturday, super heroes! It sounds like William and his amazing crew are going to be throwing quite the shin-dig at his swinging shop. And having you there with us would make the occasion all the more festive!

About Super Heroes for Doa’a

Joe Hoffman (aka “Cowtown Joe”) began the Super Heroes for Doa’a (a charitable program that was inspired by Joe’s love for Marvel team comics like the X-Men and the Avengers) to help bring Doa’a Al-Dalou, a young lady living in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, back to Kansas City so that she can receive some more medical treatment.

Joe previously had the honor of helping Elizabeth Alex (then a news anchor for KSHB 41 News) bring Doa’a (who at the time was a small child, not yet two years old) to Kansas City so that she could receive some much needed medical care while he was working for (at the time) US Representative Dennis Moore (KS-03).

For more information on how Joe was able to help out Doa’a in the past, and how he is working to assist her now in the present, please visit SuperHeroesForDoaa.com!

Super Heroes for Doa’a is a program of
Joe’s Cowtown Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Not-For-Profit (EIN 92-1331821). All donations made to our organization are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
